Float Plans:

We ask that all multi-day renters file a float plan with a friend or family member & supply us with a copy for our records. No information submitted will be disclosed unless renters arrive late, at which point we will make an effort to contact the primary contact person listed on the float plan.

Definitions:

• Rec Single: A recreational single. These are short (10' - 12') with no rudder. These are perfect for casual paddling close to shore or taking along on a bigger boat.
• Rec Double: A recreational double. These kayaks are 13' long with no rudder and can also be easily paddled solo. They are perfect for taking along on a bigger boat.
• Plastic Single: 13' to 17' seakayaks with at least one hatch and a rudder. The shorter ones are perfect for a day trip and the longer ones are also suitable for longer expeditions.
• Glass Single: Full size fibreglass touring seakayaks with rudders and 2 hatches. We have many different models so tell us your favourite or tell us how big you are and we'll pick the appropriate one.
• Plastic Double: 2 person plastic double with a rudder and at least 1 hatch. (some will hold two adults plus a small child
• Glass Double: Full size fibreglass touring double with a centre hatch. Some models can accomodate a child or pet in the centre.

Other Rental Items

Rentals Include:

• Paddles, skirts, PFDs and all necessasry safety gear.
• We offer flexible pick up and drop off times at our Courtenay Location.

Kayak Transportation

Fibreglass kayaks can only be transported on suitable padded roof racks. We do have some racks available for use, but need prior notice including vehicle make and year. We also have padding. We reserve the right to refuse rentals if we are unhappy with the method of transportation and we can't fit a rack to your vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Kayaks cannot be towed behind larger boats. EXPENSIVE DAMAGE will result and you, the renter, will be held responsible.

Kayak Delivery

We can deliver / pick up your kayaks at your starting point / finishing point if you are unable to transport them. Call or email us for a quote.
