CVKC Women on Water 

Join some like-minded women on the water for an evening of paddling.  Whether you bring a group of friends, or come to meet some new ones, women of all ages and skill levels are welcome.  We'll tour around the estuary & get to know local waters.  This is a non-instructional group paddle, but each week CVK will provide a qualified host to answer your kayaking questions.  Our amazing female hosts include SKGABC guides, Paddle Canada Instructors, a NOLS Outdoor Educator, a Greenland Paddle builder, and guest hosts from the Comox Valley's paddling community.  Get inspired & join us for Women on Water.

*There is no cost to join us if you bring your own boat.  If you are renting, reduced evening rental rates apply.  Please call ahead to book a spot, as space is limited.


Comox Valley Harbour & Shipwreck Paddle - $55.00

Paddle along the shore while seals follow along in the scenic waters off of Goose Spit. This area is home to Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, Canada Geese & various ducks. The intertidal life is fascinating and there are opportunities to see Sand Dollars, Purple Sea Stars, Moon Snails and Sea Anemones at low tides. We will also visit the Royston Shipwrecks, which are easy and exciting to explore by kayak. We launch right from the shop and head to Comox Marina to check out the beautiful boats moored there, before heading over to the historic wrecks at Royston.

What to bring:

  • All kayaking equipment is provided. Footwear that can get wet (sandals, booties, old sneakers), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, water bottle, weather appropriate clothing, camera, light snack (e.g. granola bar, trail mix, etc.)

Guided Sunset Paddles in Comox Valley - $48.00

Sunset over the mountains & glacier is no more beautiful than when viewed from the cockpit of a kayak. We launch from our shop among seals, eagles, herons, and ducks, then make our way out to enjoy one of the most beautiful vistas of the Comox Valley - watching the sun begin its descent over the mountains. This tour's goal is to simply enjoy the sounds of ocean birds & seals splashing as we glide along towards the setting sun & silhouettes of dancing birds in painted skies.

Estuary Tour - $48.00

Launch directly from our shop to explore the Courtenay River Estuary.  We paddle around the estaury area to take in the local wildlife and flora, and discover just how much our local waters have to offer.  All levels of paddlers are welcome.

Guided Sea Kayaking Day Trip to Tree Island - $72.00

Spend an enjoyable day kayak touring in Baynes Sound. We will cover launching, basic strokes, equipment, and safety, but the emphasis will be just paddling in this beautiful area. Tree Island is our lunch destination. The day trip gives you lots of time on the water and a chance to develop a feel for sea kayaking. In addition, you will gain a new appreciation for our local waters. Includes guiding and all kayaking equipment.

Location: Union Bay Boat Launch

What to bring/wear:

  • sunglasses
  • hat
  • sunblock
  • drinking water or sports drink (no caffeine, please)
  • lunch (pack it small to fit in a kayak hatch)
  • one pair of synthetic fabric pants (no jeans, please)
  • one pair of shorts
  • light jacket (in case of clouds, rain)
  • t-shirt or other weather-appropriate top
  • shoes (these will get wet)

Exploration Day trip to Denman and Chrome Island - $68.00

Launching from Deep Bay, we cross over to Denman Island & slowly move southward to the tip of the Island along the rugged shorelines towards Chrome Island Island.   Chrome Island is just off the south tip of Denman, and is  home to the “Lighthouse People” and a fully operational lighthouse. Here we stop to check out the Ancient Native Petroglyphs (carved symbols on rock) left by early explorers and have lunch. While we eat, we have an opportunity to soak in the sun, serenity, and spectacular views... not to mention the variety of sea birds, seals, (seasonal sea lions) & hundreds of sea stars stuck to the rock walls.  After a thorough exploration of the area, we will head back to Deep Bay with great photos & memories of a day well-spent.

Kayaking Daycamp (Kids camp) (10-14 years old) - $107.50

This kayak camp is designed to provide a safe and fun environment for youth to learn about sea kayaking. We will teach water safety, paddling techniques, boat control, rescues, general outdoor awareness and more.
