Paddle Canada: Level 1 Sea Kayaking Certification
Cost - $220 (with own boat) or $240 (with boat rental)
At the successful completion of this two-day course, partipants will have the knowledge, paddling and safety/rescue skills for a day long sea kayak trip in sheltered waters and light winds.
Day 1 focuses on rescue skills, intermediate paddling skills and basic information on equipment, journeying, seamanship and safety.
For Day 2 we plan and undertake a day trip (usually to Quadra Island) to practice our new sklls including exposure to light currents, basic weather interpretation, risk assessment, tides and navigation.
Prerequisite: Participants should have Intro to Sea Kayaking course or have equivalent skills and knowledge, including basic rescues.

To enrol in this course students should have completed Paddle Canada’s Introduction to Kayaking course or have equivalent skills. All participants must be ready to demonstrate a confident wet exit at the start of the course. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a Paddle Canada certificate.
